The Twins farmhand went yard in his fourth straight game Saturday, tying the team record for consecutive games with a homer and powering the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats to an 8-4 triumph over the Reading Phillies.

Ramirez also tripled twice, walked and scored three runs as part of a 3-for-4 night at New Britain Stadium.

The 26-year-old native of the Dominican Republic very nearly missed his shot at history. He was homerless in four plate appearances before launching a 2-2 offering from Phillies reliever Frank Gailey over the wall in left field.

Ramirez became the third player in Rock Cats history to homer in four straight games, joining Dustan Mohr and Michael Cuddyer, both of whom did it in 2001.

During his streak, the eight-year Minor League veteran is 10-for-17 with four RBIs and six runs scored out of the top spot in the lineup.

"I've been working on my timing. It's right there lately," he said. "Timing is everything for me, so it's something I've been working on here lately. I'm just putting some good swings on the ball and it's been great."

Signed by the Twins as a Minor League free agent last November, Ramirez started the year at extended spring training after suffering a groin injury. He played in four games for Class A Advanced Fort Myers before joining New Britain on May 1.

Between the Tigers and Braves organizations, the two-time Futures Game selection had played at Triple-A in each of the previous four seasons. He hit .267 with 11 homers and 36 RBIs last year for Gwinnett.

"No idea, no idea," he said when asked about a potential return to the International League. "I'm going out there and doing my job -- doing my best job -- and playing every day. That's all I can do right now. The rest is up to the team."

Ramirez acknowledged that his ultimate goal is to return to the Major Leagues, where he played for the Tigers in 2009 and the Braves last season. He added, however, that to achieve that feat he'll have to follow the advice of a future Hall of Famer.

"Guys like Chipper Jones, they taught me how to play the game," Ramirez said. "Just always play hard wherever you are and always be ready to come back [to the Majors]."

Twins' No. 2 prospect Aaron Hicks went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Rock Cats starter B.J. Hermsen (1-1) allowed two earned runs on seven hits over seven innings in his third Double-A outing.

Cesar Hernandez and Jiwan James, the Phillies' No. 14 and 19 prospects, respectively, both went 2-for-4 with a double.
